System
Description: Side Coiling Doors & Grilles SC3000 Series are side
activated closures designed with curtains constructed of solid curtain
slats, perforated curtain slats or of a security open type grille curtain.
These units are opened and closed with a positive action system which is
housed within the coil box assembly.
 System Advantages:
Side Coiling Closures enable the designer to close off areas where head
room and side room restrictions exist and where conventional coiling
overhead doors and grilles do not solve the problem. These closures allow
the design professional the flexibility of navigating around a radius as
small as 12”. All of our Side Coiling Closures are available with an
optional floor track.

 Design Alternatives:
Side Coiling Closures are used in lieu of vertical acting closures due to
their flexibility and design. Unlike other side activated closures, these
units are not floor supported when in the closed position but in fact are
supported by the structure above. They are light weight when compared to
other door or wall products. Typical curtain hanging weight is between two
and five pounds per square foot. Unlike operable walls, where the stack area
must be significantly reinforced, the side-coiling closures weight is
transferred to the floor plate area when the unit is in the stored position.
 Applications:
The Side Coiling Closures can be used in retail, commercial, schools,
hospitals, subways and parking facilities. They are primarily used for
security and crowd control.
