MCE 101 took place from June 18th to June 20th in Bellport, NY.
McKEON distributors from multiple states attended our recently updated continuing education course titled Basic Training: Product Awareness, Building Codes, and Marketing.
The two-and-a-half-day seminar took place at the McKEON Training Center. The building houses a showroom with models of wide-span opening protectives that represent a cross section of the product line. An adjoining common space accommodates classroom style seating with digital technology.
The curriculum provides participants with an introduction to our building code based marketing model, a factory tour, familiarity with working models of the products and the opportunity to meet McKEON personnel. The course concludes with an exam on the topics covered over the two-and-a-half-days.
Many topics were covered including:
- Regulatory standards
- Estimating and plan review
- The architectural community, market awareness, and penetration
- Use of “Fire Door Systems – A Guide to Code Compliance” as a marketing tool
- AIA HSW accredited seminars
- Unique building code challenges in vertical space design
