The McKEON AirShield™ Model AL3014 is tested, listed and labeled to ANSI/DASMA 105, DASMA 112 and ASTM E283 for air infiltration and exfiltration.
McKEON’s AirShield™ Model AL3014 is a revolutionary product designed to improve energy efficiency by complying with the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and other similar energy codes and standards. When insulated, the assembly also provides superior thermal and sound transmission performance making it the perfect choice for climate control and overall ambiance of the space.Beginning with the 2012 Edition of the IECC, any rolling door installed in a building thermal envelope subject to the energy code has been required to carry an air leakage rating label. The current edition of the IECC defines air leakage as being “inward (infiltration) or outward (exfiltration) through the building thermal envelope”.![]()
In other words, air leakage can occur in either direction and both directions have energy efficiency implications. Historically, rolling door assemblies existed without these verified air leakage ratings— until McKEON released the AL3014.
The AL3014 is the first and only product to carry a public listing and certified label covering both air infiltration and exfiltration. The curtain constructed of extruded aluminum allows for a very tight slat-to-slat interface which naturally seals the assembly far better than a traditional roll formed steel curtain. This improved performance allows the AL3014 to exceed the performance requirements of the IECC without adding external covers or components to the guides.
Other manufacturers may claim air infiltration performance, but McKEON is the only manufacturer with a verified, publicly listed and labeled assembly that certifies both directions of airflow — meeting the full intent of IECC.
