This year’s Arc US was held in Aventura, Florida from September 16th-19th. Christina Keegan who handles the Architectural Marketing for McKeon Door East and Michael Escribano, Senior Operations Manager of McKeon Door of DC/Virginia represented McKEON at the very successful event. Arc US hosts architects and manufacturers for four busy days filled with events such as seminars and presentations, one-on-one meetings, and project discussions.  It was a great turnout with 100 of America’s top principal architects and approximately 150 cutting edge vendors in attendance.

For the McKEON representatives the days spent at Arc US were full of group meetings, followed by seminars and then directly into one-on-one meetings. One-on-one meetings gave us the chance to sit down with an architect and explain how McKEON’s innovative product line can assist them in resolving common code challenges that arise when designing a building. Christina and Michael connected with architects from their local territories of New York City and Washington, DC such as SHoP Architects , AECOM, Leo A Daly, and Page to name a few.

Social hours provided another great opportunity to connect organically and have conversations which build meaningful connections within the architectural and manufacturing communities.  The dialog during the four days focused mainly on the topics of the featured seminars. Most of the people in attendance agreed that the opportunities gained by meeting in person with one’s peers and colleagues is invaluable. Christina Keegan explains, “ArcUS creates an environment for manufacturers and architects to share knowledge and information face to face outside of the usual project deadlines and pressures. We value the opportunity to build connections of trust and support in a candid way that we can all attest after the past year, isn’t always translatable through a computer screen.”
