Set-Rite Corporation completed a project at a firehouse in Philadelphia, PA.

A local firehouse wanted to refresh the exterior of its historic facility. Their goal was to improve the building’s curb appeal, enhance energy efficiency, and most importantly, preserve the historical character that makes the station a landmark.

As shown in the “before” photo, the original doors had weathered the test of time. Years of exposure had taken their toll, leaving the building with aging, non-insulated doors that were both visually dated and energy inefficient.

Set Rite’s solution was ten McKEON ClimateGuard™ IS3000 insulated service doors finished with a powder coat that complements the firehouse’s classic architecture while introducing modern performance. The insulated service doors are filled with thick foamed-in-place polyurethane that permanently bonds to both the interior and exterior slat panels of the curtain. These new doors not only elevated the building’s aesthetic but also provided much-needed insulation to help regulate interior temperatures and reduce energy loss.

By removing the old, non-insulated doors and replacing them with a high-performance alternative, the firehouse was able to strike the perfect balance between preserving historical charm and embracing modern energy solutions.
