David Dodge & Doug Zachary represented McKEON at Fall Forum.

DASMA (Door & Access Systems Manufacturers Association International) held their Fall Forum at the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station in Denver, Colorado. During the three-day event participants attended workshops, presentations, and committee meetings. Topics covered included specific industry trends, market outlook, and legal counsel.

Guest speakers addressed specific topics such as Design Wind Pressures, Glazing in Garage Doors, Energy Codes & Doors, and Thermal Performance. David Dodge, our VP of Business and Code Development, was invited to present a 1 1/2-hour training session titled, “Principles of Egress in the Building Codes.” Because doors and access systems are typically components of the egress system in any structure, exiting and required exit path requirements are vital issues of concern for all door manufacturers in the DASMA organization.

Both Doug, McKEON’s Business Development Manager, and Dave serve on active industry committees within DASMA.  Their experience at the event proved to be instructive and helpful along with nurturing solid peer relationships.

Over 50 attendees representing door manufacturers throughout the United States took part in Fall Forum. They reported the meetings to be some of the best they have ever attended at DASMA. Thanks to David Monsour, DASMA Division Technical Director, and staff, the event was well-executed, extremely educational, and informative. A big thanks goes out to all who prepared and presented the successful three-day event!
