September was an eventful month at McKEON’s training facility in Bellport, NY!

The McKEON Training Center houses a showroom displaying a representative cross-section of McKEON products and an adjoining common area. McKEON Continuing Education (MCE) course participants spend part of their time in a classroom environment equipped with digital technology before moving to the showroom. Here they can interactively operate twelve models of wide-span opening protectives, maximizing their learning experience.

MCE 102 – September 13th to 16th

Twenty-four attendees from eleven distributorships took part in our Technical School. At this hands-on training seminar, they acquired the skills necessary to install the basic McKEON product line. This course requires three and a half days of intense instruction. Participants pick up tips and tricks associated with McKEON proprietary products. All McKEON Continuing Education courses are comprehensive and include a certification exam upon completion. McKEON-certified installers are card-carrying professionals, ensuring optimal product performance.

MCE 101 – September 28th to 30th

Fourteen participants from eight distributorships attended the course titled Basic Training: Product Awareness, Building Codes, and Marketing. The curriculum focused on familiarizing distributor staff members with the McKEON brand and its unique business model.

Many topics were covered including:

  • Regulatory standards
  • Estimating and plan review
  • The architectural community, market awareness, and penetration
  • Use of “Fire Door Systems – A Guide to Code Compliance” as a marketing tool
  • AIA HSW accredited seminars

This training event also included a factory tour and the opportunity to meet members of the McKEON team in person. Team members represented engineering, material procurement, expediting, estimating, marketing and social media, accounting, and executive leadership. The course concludes with an exam on the topics covered over the two and a half days.
