Northstar Equipment and Skold Door Company worked alongside HGA and Miron Construction on Bellin Health’s new Ambulatory Surgery Center.
After a successful collaboration at ThedaCare in Appleton, WI, HGA Milwaukee and Miron Construction re-enlisted the Northstar Equipment/Skold Door Company team to coordinate, provide, and install six McKEON Auto-Set® Model FSFDs.
Five of the FSFDs are quite large at 27′ wide. The vertical acting fire shutters protect openings on a second-floor lounge area overlooking the main entrance lobby below. The wide-span opening protectives work seamlessly with other building components, passing closely by a glass railing and floor slab. See one of the FSFDs in action here! The McKEON FSFD is recommended in situations where fire and smoke protection is required but emergency egress is not an issue.
Careful attention to detail and coordination, along with an experienced installation team, resulted in another efficient and effective project solution for the architect!
